Frontman, Ali Shiach, said of the new album, “Its 4 years on from our debut and a lot has happened in the world since then, not least of which was a global pandemic. So there’s a lot of self-reflection coming through on the songs. They are more complex, where we have played around with peaks and troughs, additional musical and vocal layers, even keys and percussion.   “Don’t get me wrong, we are a HARD ROCK band and across 12 songs we still get to sing about sex and good times but its more considered.”   On the new single he adds, “Take The Roof Off is a state of mind. Those Friday nights when you just wanna tie one on and see where the night takes you – ‘…It’s Friday night the working week is done, its time for shifting gears…’. Escapism can be found through revelry, and sometimes we need to let loose, and break the chains of our apparent identities ‘…Sense and sensibility lost on the wind, the mirror ain’t my stare…’.   Musically the track was always written with a sole purpose – to feel great, euphoric even! I want it to be played loud at pre-drinks, house parties, rock bars, clubs and in cars across the world. The feel-good factor is laid out in the main chorus riff, bouncing along nicely with space for drums to drive the song. It then turns to triumphant screwface when the half-time bridge hits; layers upon layers of octaved guitars introduce a riff that adds an Aerosmith flavour to the earlier ACDC/Blackberry Smoke vibes.   The gang vocal bridge outro chant sums up the song’s nature in 5 repeated words ‘…Down for a good time…’! I feel its sure to be a crowd participation favourite moment of future Electric Black sets.”
