Review By Darren McIntyre

Bernie Marsden was a charismatic, humble, genuine human being who always had time to stop and chat, get a photo or laugh and be a pleasure to be around. Bernie passed peacefully on the 24th of August aged 72 surrounded by family like the rock icon he was still working up to the end, Bernie released 3 albums in the form of KINGS, Chess, and TRIOS which were part of his inspirations series, Bernie had just completed a new album and only a handful of people knew this, the result is Working Man and he oversaw the artwork, sequence & audio masters. The album Working Man will be released to the world on the 24th of November and to wet our appetites for this stunning new album we get the rocking new single Being Famous which I will be reviewing for you today.

Being Famous – Pounding snare drum punches fill the air as cool Hammond-style keys flow effortlessly through the intro as we get the very best of this rock icon. The vocals are a real gravelly soulful tone that lets this foot-stomping track catch us off guard as the whole arrangement just pops with ease as the cool backing vocals fill the air and let this fantastic track come to life. The gritty rasping guitar licks are effortless as they drive this colossal offering onwards as the whole arrangement just builds and builds as the track just oozes quality, craftsmanship and real energy as we get to grips with this awesome piece of music, the rhythm section is coming at us with real depth as the musicians really dig deep and deliver a fantastic track that gives us slick clean guitar work with a full on bassline that drops epic funk tones that wrap themselves around this amazing track. Bernie is sounding incredible as we feel the groove work its magic in this slick-written rock n roll classic.
