Review By Darren McIntyre
Crowley is a hard-rocking 5 piece band from Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK who came to our attention in July 2022 when they dropped their debut single The Witching Hour, the track is inspired by the band’s classic rock roots and their fascination with the occult.
The band have gone from strength to strength with shows up and down the country which has brought them many many new fans along the way, the band followed that with the single Something Wicked This Way Comes which came our way in April of this year. Today they deliver a blistering rock n roll monster Pyre which I will be reviewing for you today.
Pyre – Towering vocals erupt from the outset as a shredding power-driven guitar lick kicks in the doors and lets this colossal rock n roll track bare its teeth. The deep full-on bassline is handing us sweet meaty grooves that are letting the tone wash over us as this incredible piece of music just comes for us. The soaring vocals are wrapping themselves around this pounding beast as the rhythm section hits us with solid snare drum punches that bring in bass kicks that just take this incredible track to another level, the twin guitar assault is just letting this track build and build as the band just comes together to deliver a rock n roll juggernaut that is powering through this awesome arrangement. The tempo switches gear and off we go as a slick clean guitar lick explodes and just sets this track on fire as the pounding rhythm section drives us onwards with thundering beats that are wrapped in phenomenal soaring vocals that just let us know that Crowley is here and here to stay.
