Review By Darren McIntyre

Fazerdaze aka Amelia Rahaya Murray is a singer/songwriter/producer & multi-instrumentalist from Wellington, New Zealand who blends dreamy pop elements with grungy shoegaze influences. Fazerdaze came to our attention in 2014 when she released her self-titled EP to the world, 2017 saw the release of her first full-length album Morningside, this brought her monumental success leading to burnout with the sheer success of the record and unhealthy relationships which caused her to take a 5-year hiatus. Roll on 2022 as we get rewarded with EP Break which brings in elements of dance, pop & electronica, Amelia brings us her brand new single Bigger and follows that with some live shows in the UK, please settle in as I walk us through this infectious mellow offering from the fabulous Fazerdaze.

Bigger – A cool dark guitar pick wanders through the intro as Amelia’s soulful moody vocals bring this pop-esque track to our attention. The sweet synth tones flow freely through the track as a solid snare drum beat brings the rhythm section to our attention, we get a meaty bassline that drops killer tones all through this arrangement as the toe-tapping groove-laden track builds with sweet melodies that really grab your attention. The punchy track has sweet elements that allow us to drift off and feel the emotion oozing from this fantastic musician as she drives the tempo forward with cool synth-laden beats that let the track grow and bring us fantastic tones that leave us wanting more from this exciting musician.
