Review By Darren McIntyre
Veritas are a progressive metal/power metal band from Kansas City, Kansas who formed in 2012, the boys have given us EP Veritas in 2019, albums Threads Of Fatality in 2019 & their killer new offering Silent Script and from that comes their infectious doom single Grind Away which I will be reviewing for you today.
Grind Away – A pounding rhythm section brings thundering basskicks and cymbal snaps that let this progressive / doom-style track unfold. There are shredding power riffs working their way through the intro as the soaring rasping vocals make themselves known to us as we feel the depth and attitude pouring from this foot-stomping beast.
The whole arrangement flows very well and drops some cool riffs that are moving freely through the mid-section as a slick deep guitar lick erupts mid-track and really grabs you and shakes you with all it has, this is a real heavy rock n roll track that brings in meaty funk tones that are delivering slick clean tones that let us know the boys are back and back with a vengeance.
