The hard rock ensemble Who On Earth has honoured one of classic rock’s greatest anthems in their latest single, a reimagining of Toto’s iconic ‘Hold The Line’.
Hailing from New Jersey, the band took on the challenge of preserving the essence of the original track while infusing it with a heavier sound using cutting-edge engineering and production techniques.
Having previously collaborated successfully with Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob) on their debut album ‘Blame’ in 2022, the decision to employ his expertise at Orlando’s Sonic Stomp Studio in New York City was an easy one. “This marks our first recording with guitarists Bruce Gatewood and Johnny James Barone, and they truly delivered,” mentions bassist Pete Rizzi. “Given the historical significance of the song, we were committed to getting it right, and the outcome is something we’re thrilled about. It was a true team effort.”
Vocal powerhouse Coosh adds, “There wasn’t a soul who didn’t adore this song, so there was a bit of pressure to give it the justice it deserves. After all, it was crafted and recorded 45 years ago by some of the finest studio musicians of that era!”
