Review By Darren McIntyre
Crazy Lixx is a sleaze rock / hard rock/glam rock outfit from Malmo, Sweden formed in 2002. The boys have given us Loud Minority in 2007, New Religion in 2010, Riot Avenue in 2012, Crazy Lixx in 2014, Ruff Justice in 2017, Forever Wild in 2019 & Street Lethal in 2021, the boys have been hard at work writing and recording and in early 2024 will drop their highly anticipated new album Two Shots At Glory, from that comes their storming new single Fire It Up which has an accompanying video from 1998’s film The Accused, please settle back as I walk us through this pounding new offering.
Fire It Up – Kicking in the doors from the off comes a pounding rhythm section that hits us with deep bass kicks that work well with a solid snare drum punch that is rounded off with thundering cymbal crashes. The track is a juicy number that brings us gravelly rasping vocals that elevate this awesome track that has us stamping our feet and punching the air from the off. We get the cool deep bassline that is wrapping its delicious dark grooves all around us as a cool slick twin guitar salvo smashes in and delivers a slick clean lick that just lets us know that these boys are back and back with a bang, this is a real stadium filler that pushes out killer grooves and rasping guitar riffs that are controlled by a thundering rhythm section that is solid and delivers a real hard edge rock n roll output. Classic Crazy Lixx that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
