Review By Darren McIntyre

Brittany Bindrim is an electronic / pop artist from Chicago, Illinois who brings us her stunning new single Obelisk from her soon-to-be-released debut album Velella, Velella due for release on March 8th 2024. This is a new chapter for Brittany as this takes her into experimental territory as she is already known for her haunting yet powerhouse vocals in her band I: Scintilla, please join me as I wander through this thought-provoking melodic synth-laden arrangement.

Obelisk – Deep haunting synth sampler grooves shatter the silence as this punchy arrangement comes at us. Brittany’s smouldering vocals work so well with this epic composition as we feel the emotion oozing from this exciting musician. The clever well-worked sampler tones flow effortlessly through the track as we get these intense vocals that just elevate this dark intense musical journey as it hits us like a thunderbolt with its haunting tones and scintillating vocal touches that just let us lose ourselves for second or two as this heavily laden electronic beast builds and builds as the tempo takes us one way then the next. It is just one of those pieces that instantly grabs your attention and won’t let you go as we get sucked into the dark melodic groove sensation as it wraps itself around us and won’t let us leave.
