Review By Darren McIntyre

Walter Trout is a musician/songwriter/guitarist originally from Ocen City, New Jersey who has been active since 1969, Walter relocated to Los Angeles where he became a sideman for the likes of John Lee Hooker, Percy Mayfield, Big Mama Thornton, Joe Tex & many more. Walter was the lead guitarist in Canned Heat, and lead guitarist in John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Walter formed Walter Trout Band in 1989and has given us 19 studio albums, 10 as Walter Trout & The Radicals and on March 1st he brings us his incredible new album Broken which features collaborations with some of the biggest and best in the business, today he brings us the colossal new single Bleed(Ft Will Wilde on Harmonica), please sit back as I walk us through this blistering new offering.

Bleed – A slick deep gravelly guitar lick pours from the intro as epic Harmonics tones greet us and let this blues-soaked monster come for us. The rhythm section is handing us a cool snare drum beat as the cymbal crashes rain down on us and the fabulous gritty vocals let this melodic blues rocker kick in the doors and really give it to us straight. The whole arrangement is a cool toe-tapping blues beast that brings us epic guitar playing that has us standing still as the gritty rasping groove wraps itself around us and just takes us to another place. The bassline hands us a deep funk-laden groove that controls the tone of this electrifying monster as it unfolds before us and just brings us the very best of this iconic bluesman and all that he has to offer. The whole composition is a killer blues explosion that mixes harmonica with killer tones that let us know that Walter Trout is still giving us the very best in blues music.
