Review By Darren McIntyre

Jackson Colt is a rock quartet from Johannesburg, South Africa who are the essence of 80’s hard rock reimagined. The boys recently delivered singles Echoes, Strangers & Reckless Love and today they hit us with their searing rock ballad Fallen Angel, the boys are currently working on their 14-track debut album that will combine a classic rock sound with some modern influences. Please sit back as I walk us through this awesome new offering.

Fallen Angel – Colossal dark and melodic piano tones linger through the intro as soulful vocals let this track shine as it takes us on the journey with the boys. The track changes tempo as a shredding guitar riff fills the air as the rhythm section comes at us with a solid snare drum punch the bass kicks work well with the cymbal snaps, and the bassline drops cool deep grooves that take this track to another place as we feel the energy pouring from this epic arrangement. The slick clean guitar lick builds and builds as this foot-stomping rocker ballad grabs us and kicks in the doors with its energy, depth and fantastic tone, we are getting a real ’80s throwback from this fantastic composition as the cool sweet piano tones flow effortlessly through the whole piece as we just lose ourselves in the colossal groove that is hitting us from all sides and will have you reaching for the repeat button for sure.
