The Parish in Huddersfield set the stage for my first gig of the year, and what an unforgettable night it turned out to be with Wayward Sons. Amid a chilly evening, the venue buzzed with energy and anticipation, providing the perfect backdrop for a sensational performance.

The evening began on a high note as I navigated my way through the venue, eventually finding myself in the back room where the anticipation for the performance was already palpable. The green room provided a chance to catch up with Toby and Sam, setting the friendly and welcoming tone for the rest of the night

As the crowd swelled in anticipation, Wayward Sons hit the stage with a burst of guitars and launched into the energetic “Big Day.” From that moment, their stage presence was nothing short of spectacular, instantly drawing the audience into the heart of the performance.

With a setlist boasting 19 songs, the band wasted no time and kept the energy high, delivering one hit after another. Toby’s interactions with the audience were brief but impactful, allowing the music to speak for itself. The crowd became an integral part of the performance, creating an electric synergy that intensified with each song.

The setlist was a rollercoaster of musical excellence, with standout moments including “Don’t Wanna Go” that brought the venue to its feet, and the explosive finale with “Until the End” left the crowd craving more. After a quick breather off stage, the band returned for an encore, treating the audience to three more songs that further solidified the night’s greatness.

Wayward Sons proved not only their musical prowess but also their ability to connect with the audience. The friendly atmosphere persisted throughout the night, making it evident that these musicians not only delivered one of the best live shows but also genuinely appreciated their fans.

Toby’s interaction with the crowd was minimal, as the band unleashed a relentless 19-song setlist. The decision to let the music do the talking paid off, creating an unbroken connection between the performers and their captivated audience. Each track, from “Feel Good Hit” to “Jokes On You,” showcased the band’s musical prowess and left an indelible mark on the night.

In conclusion, Wayward Sons at The Parish surpassed all expectations for a fantastic night of rock music. With an electrifying stage presence, a dynamic setlist, and an undeniable connection with the audience, this performance sets the bar high for gigs in 2024. If you have the chance to catch Wayward Sons live, don’t miss it – you’re in for an unforgettable experience.
