Review By Darren McIntyre

These Wicked Rivers are a rock n roll juggernaut Force Of Nature from Derby who came to our attention in 2014, the boys have given us The Enemy in 2015, II in 2017, and Eden in 2020. Having these epic records in their arsenal has allowed them to tour the length and breadth of the country supporting the likes of Hayseed Dixie, Those Damn Crows, Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons & Kira Mac, they have appeared at the legendary Stonedead Festival and have just come back from their headline tour of the UK in December. The boys are preparing to deliver their new album Force Of Nature on the 1st of March and are planning to hit the road in early February and tour right through to June, with that in mind the boys bring us a new single The Riverboat Man which I will be reviewing for you today.

The Riverboat Man – The track begins with a soulful Hammond-style keys intro that is drenched in a pounding rhythm section that hits us with snare drum punches that follow killer bass kicks to get this track up and running. The gravelly vocals flow effortlessly through the track as the slick clean guitar riffs take this track to another place as the whole arrangement just pops, we feel the groove pick us up as the full-on bassline drops epic funk grooves that just lets this track breathe and really kick in the doors with its intensity, depth, attitude and swagger. The slick crisp guitar licks erupt and just let this track sizzle as the punchy full-on composition takes us on the journey as the boys offload with a real sludgy power drenched rock n roll piece that is whetting our appetites for this new album.
