Alterium is a power/speed metal quintet from Italy who were born in 2022 from the ashes of Kalidia when they decided to go their separate ways. The band are hitting us with their colossal new single Of War & Flames from the album of the same name which is set for release on the 8th of March, this new record will showcase the prowess of Nicoletta’s singing and songwriting, please sit back as I take us through this blistering new single.
Of War & Flames – The track begins with a fantastic piano intro that sets the scene as this powering beast rears it’s head as the rhythm section bursts into life. There is a clever stringed section that just wraps itself around the killer opening as we feel the energy pouring from this fantastic new outfit, we get a rousing rhythm section that is kicking in the doors with a pounding groove that brings killer double bass kicks that are joined by a solid snare drum beat that lets this monster come to life. The soaring vocals are just incredible as they let this track deliver haunting tones and a mesmerising stringed section that just takes us to another place as the shredding power-driven guitar licks devour us with this intensity as the killer piano tones linger intently and let this track tell its own story as the pounding groove grabs hold of us and just lets us make up our mind as this exciting quintet deliver a thought-provoking monster track that will have us licking our lips for this debut album.
