Royal Hearts – For The Last Time – Single Review

Review by graeme wright

I’ve had my eye on Royal Hearts for a little while now, recently reviewing their excellent single ‘Mistaken’ for this website. They are back with a new song called ‘For The Last Time’ and it’s another huge leap of progress for a band that for me could be at the forefront of the modern Metalcore movement given the right breaks. The new song is the best thing yet from this band and is a slower-paced and more melodic effort than ‘Mistaken’. The first thing to note about this track is the intelligence of the lyrics which for me appear to refer to the end of a partnership and the final cutting of ties from a toxic relationship.

The words resonated with me and the way singer Ryan Camuto can effortlessly switch from full-on Metalcore growl to a really melodic tone is truly impressive. The rest of the band are no slouches either and the whole thing displays an outfit who are reaching the peak of their powers and are ready to move up to the next level. I can’t wait for these guys to release an album and if it’s of the same quality as their recent single releases it will only increase the profile of a band who have really impressed me in a relatively short period of time. Highly recommended.
