Twister are a NWOCR band from Durham, Newcastle, England who started their journey as far back as 2004 with some 18 members coming and going through those Twister doors. The lineup has been together a while now and seems to have gelled into a strong unit with many miles left yet. The boys have enjoyed success in the past by sharing the stage with such big hitters as Status Quo, Bumblefoot, Jools Holland, Texas, Scouting For Girls, Electric Six, Simple Minds and more. The boys released Cursed & Corrected on the 13th Nov and followed this with a 13-date European Tour with The Quireboys, the boys have been busy in the studio and gave us EP Only The Strong Survive and played shows up and down the country in support of this. The boys are again out on the road and tonight stop off in Glasgow @ Audio to bring their infectious brand of rock & roll to the good people of Glasgow, first up is –

Keep A Secret – The boys kick in the doors with this infectious rock n roll juggernaut as the place welcomes these boys from Newcastle as they let rip with this fantastic opener that lets us know Twister is in the house. The groove is a real rocking groove that has solid snare drum beats that let the shredding guitars rip through the venue and get the juices flowing, the tempo changes direction as the soulful vocals let us feel the emotion pouring from the stage tonight. The boys are in fine form as they ramp up the energy and tempo and just give it to us big time, we feel the shredding power chords oozing from the stage as Stevie and the boys leave us wanting more and boy do they bring it as we stroll into –
Don’t Play Nice – Pounding scrums erupt from the back of the stage as this foot-stomping rock n roll bruiser hits us straight in the face. The bassline is dropping deep grooves that work well in this melodic beast as the boys bring the swagger to Glasgow tonight as we feel the riffs fill every inch of this place tonight. The vocals are oozing from the stage as the boys build and build as they drive their energetic music all through the venue tonight, we are feeling the funk element pulsing through us tonight as Stevie and the boys reach boiling point as a shredding power riffed solo explodes and just brings the groove to us tonight, we stroll into –


Trading Hearts – Pounding snare punch comes at us with a healthy dose of guitar chords with a hefty riff that moulds the track together as the rhythm goes up a level and peels back the layers of musicality that are flowing from this punchy little beast of a record. vocals are just classic rocking melodic tones that are fitting this track ever so well, bass is handing us our arse on a plate with incredible bouncy funky grooves that are weaving their way into the fabric of this classy riffed musical beast of a rhythmic monster. The boys take the applause and thank us for coming out and giving them our time, we move on –
Call To Arms –  Mellow piano keys are first to greet us before a change in direction hits us and in comes punchy snare punches with a bass drum accompaniment, the gritty rasping guitar chords are a real shot in the arm as they elevate this rocking track up a level or two. Bass is again at the forefront of the rhythm section as it hands out absolutely monster grooving chords that just melt all over this arrangement, guitar chords with attitude are dancing all over this tune with ease and let us know they are here and here to stay. vocally it is a triumph as they mix and mould into this rasper of a track with cool gritty vocal tones that just sing. The boys are feeling the love tonight as we holler and cheer and just want more, we get it in the form of


Monroe – Haunting strings come in to give us a taste of what’s in store before a change up hits us and we get snare drums with a punchy bass drum kick that has cymbal taps that control the rhythm section beautifully, vocals are a rasping gravelly fit as they go about their business and keep the track on course, the bass is in unison with a gritty guitar riff as the bass delivers with full on bluesy grooves that fit the arrangement so well, classy pop-rock inspired number, the hits keep coming as we drop into the classic –
Fist Fight By The Waterside is a punchy gritty riffed number that changes in direction with a punchy snare kick that controls the rhythm as we go, bass drum kicks are furiously working their magic as the track rolls on gathering pace as it builds momentum, vocals come in and have a real depth of vibe with a monster gravelly melodic tone which is incredible, the guitar is handing us chords with real attitude as they soar and riff their way through this uptempo monster riffed beast, bass is bringing us cool plundering funky grooves that mix and fit well with a musical piece of rocking bluesy toned gritty melodies, solo is a killer with no filler, classic.


Monsters – Punchy rhythm section kicks off this rocking new track as the twin guitar riffs roll through this gritty foot-stomping rocker track. The thundering new track brings tempo changes and gritty guitar licks that are all wrapped in Steve’s awesome vocals as this new track gets its first outing. The track is a real grower as the boys bring a real rasping guitar riff that is wrapped in powering drums that are controlling the groove from the back of the room, the place is clapping along to this awesome new track that is from the upcoming album that will be released shortly(so Stevie tells me) – we stroll into –
Favourite Underdog – The track opens with a thundering power groove as snare drum punches fill the air and let this rocking beast breathe. The soulful vocals let the track flow as the twin guitar riffs rip through the venue tonight as the boys bring this foot-tapping rock track to us tonight. The full-on bassline is wrapping itself around us with its dark moody grooves that just grab our attention as the boys let rip and pile on the riffs as we punch the air and get into this punchy rock classic that lets rip with a real slick awesome solo that is filling every corner of the venue as the pounding snare drum beats come behind it and finish us off tonight.


64 White Lies – Funky finger-picking chorded riffs are upon us as there is a punchy snare kick and bouncing bass drum kick that controls the rhythm of this electric-driven chorded monster, bass is right in the middle of the mix with bouncing meaty grooving chords that just open this killer track right up, vocals have a smoothness t them but also a tinge of rock vocals that fit the composition perfectly, drums are just fantastic as they weave and work their magic as the engine room explodes with punchy powering beats that work. classic album with lots of twists and turns and musicality is on point with crisp tones and plundering beats.
