Simple Plan proved once again why they’re a staple in the pop-punk genre with their electrifying gig at the Eventim Apollo, London on 16th February 2024. Celebrating 22 years together, the band showcased their remarkable ability to connect with fans old and new, delivering a setlist that expertly blended fan favourites and hits spanning their extensive discography.

From the opening chords of “I’d Do Anything” to the emotional encore of “Perfect,” Simple Plan had the audience hooked from start to finish. They effortlessly navigated through their catalogue, touching on tracks like the anthemic “Welcome to My Life” and the nostalgic “I’m Just a Kid,” ensuring that everyone in attendance got a taste of the band’s evolution over the years

What truly stood out was Simple Plan’s intuitive understanding of their fans’ favourites. They meticulously curated a setlist that catered to various eras of their career, showcasing their versatility and growth as musicians. Hits like “Shut Up!” and “Your Love Is a Lie” resonated with long-time fans, while newer tracks like “A Million Pictures” and “Iconic” showcased the band’s continued relevance and creativity.

One of the night’s most memorable moments came during “Summer Paradise,” where the band unleashed massive inflatable balls into the crowd, igniting a frenzy of energy and excitement. The atmosphere was electric as fans bounced and danced along, fully immersed in the infectious energy radiating from the stage.

Another highlight was during “I’m Just a Kid,” where drummer Chuck ventured into the crowd, surfing atop a sea of outstretched hands. It was a moment of pure adrenaline and unity, symbolizing the unbreakable bond between the band and their dedicated fanbase, all while singer Pierre showcased his talent on the drums.

The encore was equally exhilarating, with surprise guest Derek DiScanio joining the band for a powerful rendition of “Where I Belong” before transitioning into a medley of fan-favourite tracks, including “Crazy,” “Perfect World,” “Save You,” and “This Song Saved My Life.” The night culminated in an emotional finale with “Perfect,” leaving fans feeling uplifted and inspired.
