Unleashing a Sonic Uprising
Review by Brian Lee
In a tumultuous world where dissent simmers beneath the surface, BLACKOUT PROBLEMS emerges with their latest single, “WHALES,” a roaring anthem of defiance and resilience. Released ahead of their forthcoming album “RIOT,” set to drop on February 23rd via Sony Music, this track serves as a rallying cry against the injustices and oppressions of modern society.
From the opening lines, frontman Mario Radetzky commands attention, declaring, “Oh shit, we forgot our safety word!” Setting the stage for an explosive sonic journey, “WHALES” catapults listeners into a maelstrom of raw emotion and unbridled fury. With dark synthesizers, thunderous rock riffs, and pulsating drums, BLACKOUT PROBLEMS crafts its most aggressive and powerful sound to date.
At its core, “WHALES” is a call to arms against the rising tide of intolerance and extremism. Inspired by the courage of resistance fighters like Sophie Scholl and modern-day activists like Luisa Neubauer, the Munich trio channels their discontent into a potent musical rebellion. Rejecting the forces of hatred and division, they embrace the mantra of “Never again” with unwavering resolve.
In the face of adversity, BLACKOUT PROBLEMS stands tall, refusing to be silenced. With “WHALES,” they ignite a spark of rebellion that reverberates far and wide, reminding us all of the power of music to incite change and unite voices in a chorus of defiance.
