Dirty Sterling – Single Review – I Hope You Never Know

I Hope You Never Know is the new single from rock and roll band  Dirty Sterling’s 2nd album as yet unnamed and is due out later this year with a big hometown gig at The Bath Hall on 22nd June in Scunthorpe.   This Single shows the best of this Scunthorpe storytelling rock and roll band, it comes several years after the 2015 album Call It What You Like which produced such songs like Jumping In Puddles and Why Don’t You Talk which is a must-listen-to album, they have supported bands such as The Enemy, Reverend and the Makers, Catfish and the Bottleman, Space and The Pigeon Detectives.

The Song I Hope You Never Know is about a soldier and the struggles they have both being in combat and after they finish service, the passion of  Mark Donaldson’s (lead singer) voice is raw, and pure and shows the real passion of belief in what he is singing, this song also shows that the band are not afraid to address difficult and sensitive subjects that I believe have been lost a little since the likes of The Jam and Specials etc.If I Hope You Never Know is anything to go by the 2nd album is going to be better then the 1st and I have to say is one of the best albums i have in my collection

It’s also worth noting that all the proceeds of I Hope You Never Know will be going to  the charity Hull4Heroes which is a charity set up to help veterans and their families in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire
