Review And Images By Ken Jackson
The atmosphere outside the TNMC is electric, as fans eagerly wait in line to witness Greg Coulson and his band take the stage. Despite my aversion to queues, there’s a palpable sense of camaraderie amongst fellow gig-goers, making the wait enjoyable. The sold-out show speaks volumes about the anticipation for tonight’s performance and the enduring allure of live music.
Having been a fan of Greg Coulson for years, I’m thrilled to see him once again at TNMC, accompanied by his talented bandmates. As Richard Dunning introduces them, the crowd erupts with anticipation, and the opening chords of “Stitch Me Up” fill the air, followed by the infectious energy of “Skull and Crossbones,” a preview of Coulson’s upcoming single.
Throughout the evening, the band effortlessly navigates between beloved classics, fresh tracks from their upcoming album, and skillfully executed covers. The audience is enraptured, their enthusiasm evident in the thunderous applause and shouts of encouragement. Two standing ovations and two encores are a testament to the band’s exceptional performance and the crowd’s appreciation.
Special thanks are due to the band, Richard Dunning, and Ross Davey for sound engineering, the venue staff, and everyone involved in making this unforgettable evening possible. As we leave the TNMC, buzzing with the energy of live music, I eagerly await the release of Coulson’s new album in March.
