Tony Beacock – Cold July

Tony Beacock is a 28-year-old musician UK Country singer-songwriter from Hull, East Yorkshire first picking up a guitar at 9 years old and started singing at 14 he now plays the harmonica and banjo. Tony performs solo as well as with his band on the local circuit and has also been known to perform with a group of friends known as Bloody Bastards. He has been influenced by most types of country music from Hank Williams to the more modern artists such as Charley Crockett, Sturgill Simpson and Coter Wall but his main influences are Townes Van Zandt, Blake Foley and Guy Clark as he loves the storytelling in their songs, and not forgetting that Bruce Springsteen has always been a big part of his life and influences.

Cold July is Tony’s debut single and has come from a difficult part of Tony’s life, after struggling with the breakdown of a long-term relationship he picked up his guitar and started to write whatever came to mind, using this as a form of therapy, Cold July came to him while sat in front of the fire one night, looking through the lyrics and notes in his notebook he started to piece the song together, not too happy with it at first he nearly discarded it at one point but the song grew to become one of his favourite song he had wrote.

Lyrics are very important to Tony as he writes from the heart believing in truth that is most relatable to others who listen to his songs and for that reason, the songs are pretty easy to work out what they are about.

Cold July is not only his debut single but the title track of his new album due out later in the year, he will also be releasing one or two more singles before the album, he will also be performing the song and other new material with his newly formed band under the name Tony Beacock as well as some solo shows
