Hailing from the Scottish Borders, Wild Fire is a four-piece metal band that was formed in 2021, mid-pandemic. The band’s sound is both that of intense energy and raw passion, blending elements of classic metal with modern twists to create a sound that is both timeless and fresh. They have two EPs under their belts, ‘Screaming for Mercy’ and Buried Deep’ both worthy of a download. This band have a way of building a picture and telling a story with their emotive sound that carries you along. With gutsy riffs, blistering solos, and powerful rhythms, their music resonates with rock fans young and old.
So, what about this single? ‘Scattered’ bursts into life with thunderous drums, setting a gripping tone for what’s to come, before Mikey’s vocals take centre stage. Mikey has a way of melodically narrating a tale of chaos and destruction that has an intense feel to it, while also telling of the struggle for redemption. Each note carries the weight of the emotional journey, as the track is skilfully navigated through the turbulent narrative. The music itself delivers power and tension through its fierce riffs, reflecting the intensity of the story being told and this band are great at it.
Mikey says, “the single is going to feature on an EP, which we will be releasing on the 21st of June, which should hopefully lead to an album next year”.
“We haven’t released anything for a while because we have been so busy writing new material and playing gigs that we haven’t had time to record any of it. We made the decision to not take any gigs between the end of December and March to focus on writing and recording. We have a gig on the 13th of April, at The MacArts, Galashiels which is not a single launch as such, but it is a sort of relaunch of Wild Fire with the heavier tunes (we’ll still be playing some old ones)”
If this is the first track of a forthcoming EP, the guys are onto a winner with it, and I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of it when it’s released in June. Mikey Roberts has a wide vocal range which is something exceptional, that, along with the accomplished musicianship of Keir, Liam and Lewis, Wild Fire are most definitely worth making the effort to go and see play live.

Scattered (Lyrics)
Upon the edge of a knife
A point that’s slowly twisted.
Like a bullet fired from a gun
The wound becomes infected.
To the naked eye a storm
Rivers dry, the earth is scorched.
The fires rage, burning bright.
Acid rain, corroding life.
A blood red sun in the sky
Blackened lungs wither and die.
To the sea mountains fall
Oceans bleed consuming all.
Waste away, the seed no longer scattered.
Sail away, on a raft withered and tattered.
Find a way, to see the lost horizon.
Seize the day, with blistered hands.
Whispers echo on the wind
Sowing tales that might have been.
Death comes creeping in the night.
The earth to claim one final time.
The weight lies heavy on the crown.
The fate of man becomes undone.
