Album Review LYRA will release the new album ‘LYRA’ on 12 April (via Rubyworks).

Spread the love

Review By Glen Parkes

LYRA is set to release their highly anticipated self-titled album on April 12th, showcasing a blend of raw emotion, empowering anthems, and candid storytelling. With each track, LYRA takes listeners on a journey through the highs and lows of love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and empowerment.

The album kicks off with “America,” a reminiscence of a carefree romance encountered during a songwriting escapade in the United States. It sets the tone for the album, reflecting LYRA’s introspective lyricism and captivating melodies.

“Drink Me Up” exudes confidence and independence, a declaration of self-reliance following a tumultuous breakup. LYRA’s determination to live life on her terms is palpable in this energetic anthem.”You” delves into the exhilarating feeling of rediscovering love after a period of doubt and insecurity, while “All Over Now” offers an upbeat yet poignant reflection on letting go of toxic relationships.

“I’ll Always Be the One” delves into the aftermath of a breakup, navigating feelings of betrayal and self-worth. Despite the darker themes, LYRA infuses the track with a synth-driven energy that propels the narrative forward.”Chess” serves as a defiant declaration against being pigeonholed, drawing parallels between the strategic game and LYRA’s refusal to conform to industry expectations.

With “Love Me,” LYRA explores the pain of unrequited love, while “Falling” candidly addresses insecurities and the pressure to conform to societal norms in relationships.”Queen” emerges as a fierce anthem of self-empowerment, embracing independence and resilience. LYRA’s gritty vocals and unapologetic attitude shine through in this standout track.

“Naked” offers a playful collaboration with David Guetta, showcasing LYRA’s versatility and knack for infectious hooks. Meanwhile, “Loved By You” captures the euphoria of new love, adding a sense of optimism to the album’s narrative arc.”Lovers” serves as a heartfelt ode to the joys of love, even amidst the pain of its loss, while “Someone New” offers solace and reassurance in the aftermath of heartbreak.

Closing the album with a poignant tribute, LYRA delivers a soulful rendition of Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” showcasing her reverence for the iconic artist while adding her unique flair to the track. LYRA is a captivating debut album that showcases LYRA’s distinctive sound, honest lyricism, and dynamic vocal prowess. With its blend of introspective ballads, empowering anthems, and infectious hooks, LYRA establishes LYRA as a formidable talent in the music industry, leaving listeners eagerly anticipating what comes next from this rising star.
