Review By Darren McIntyre

Quinn Sullivan is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from New Bedford, Massachusetts who came to our attention way back in 2006 when he appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show aged just 6. He was asked to play onstage with the fabulous Buddy Guy and this allowed him to play with the great B.B.King at his Blues Club in New York, Quinn has given us albums Cyclone in 2011, Getting There in 2013, Midnight Highway in 2017, Wide Awake in 2021 and on the 7th June he brings us his most emotionally charged record to date in the form of Salvation, from that record comes single Half My Heart which I will be reviewing for you today.

Half My Heart – The track opens up with some deep, sweet guitar licks that are accompanied by a snare drum beat that lets this soulful track unfold. Vocals come through and bring a really sweet tone that mixes well with this awesome ballad that has keys running freely through it as the bassline drops deep mellow grooves that instantly put us at ease. The arrangement is a thing of beauty that showcases Quinn’s incredible vocal range that works effortlessly alongside impeccable guitar chords that really elevate this thought-provoking beauty as it flows freely through the spine of this toe-tapping blues-soaked melodic track that has us reaching for the repeat button as Quinn lets his emotions come into play in this incredible piece of music.
