British Rock Band, The Forsaken, Unveils Second Single “Serenity”.
Renowned British hard rock band, The Forsaken, are set to captivate audiences once again with the release of their highly anticipated second single, “Serenity.” Led by the soul-stirring vocals of Dan Hunsdon, the track promises to deliver an electrifying blend of raw emotion and powerful melodies.
“Serenity” emerges as the latest addition to The Forsaken’s repertoire, following the success of their debut single “Pain”. The track is a powerful anthem born from personal triumph and inner peace. Frontman Dan Hunsdon poured his soul into this track, crafting it as a testament to his journey towards sobriety and clarity. “Serenity” marks a pivotal moment in Dan’s life, written after completing steps 4 and 5 of the 12-step program. Through the support of his sponsor and the determination to confront his past, Dan discovered a newfound tranquillity within himself. This song isn’t just about overcoming addiction; it’s about embracing the serenity that comes with letting go of the things beyond our control. It’s a reminder to focus on what we can change, to find solace in the present, and to forge ahead with courage and resilience. With its raw emotion and stirring melodies, “Serenity” is a testament to the strength of the human spirit.
The Band are:
Dan – Vocals/Bass
Jack – Guitar/Vocals
Stu – Guitar
Chev – Drums.
The track starts with a tense tempo that sets the tone for the song before Dan lets us into his world and his battle to overcome his struggle with addiction. His turmoil is palpable and is felt throughout, in both the lyrics and the intensity of the music. Their sound is both gritty and grungy and is hard rock music at its best.
Through poignant melodies and powerful storytelling, the song encapsulates the essence of resilience and the transformative power of moving forward despite adversity. This takes courage and time and is not the easiest of roads to travel, but the feeling I get from this song is that the lyrics and music have played a pivotal part in helping Dan move on from his life experiences, and it will resonate with a lot of people.
Music can be very cathartic for many people and I wish The Forsaken good fortune as Dan and the band continue along this road of rediscovery and discovery.
The band have several dates coming up so check them out.

Lyrics
Serenity
It only took me till step five, to see that I’m glad to be alive.
If I don’t try to shape the world, then I will see this gift unfold.
A peaceful mind can set me free. Now I can see,
A different way of life for me, Serenity.
I was medicating myself blind, while searching for a quiet mind.
I couldn’t find another way, but I’ve found light now that I pray.
A peaceful mind can set me free. Now I can see,
A different way of life for me, Serenity.
I removed all of my darkest fears that day.
Now I don’t care what they all say.
I’m only holding on to what I need.
And I live my life devoid of greed.
A peaceful mind can set me free. Now I can see,
A different way of life for me, Serenity.
