Review By Darren McIntyre
Jenny & The Spurs is an Oregon-based Outlaw / Alt-Country / Garage Rock / Punk-tinged Americana band that formed almost a decade ago. The band have played 500 live shows in a dozen countries and given us 3 studio albums and a slew of singles that have got them fired up and raring to go. The band are honouring the loss of long-time drummer Sam Henry with a real heart-felt album Broken Hearted Blue that really captures the essence of this country / Outlaw band in its most sincere form. The band delivered their new single Pain In My Heart from the long-awaited new album which drops on the 14th of June, please join me as I take us through this epic new offering.
Pain In My Heart – The track kicks off with a real toe-tapping feel as the full-on bass brings us a sweet mellow groove that is followed by cool lap steel chords that just let this track flourish. The rhythm section hits us with solid snare drum beats as the bass kicks let the groove flow and give us cymbal snaps that work well in this hoe-down style arrangement as the band just cuts loose and allows their musicality to bubble to the surface as this awesome track fills you with real joy as the sizzling guitar work just smacks you straight in the face with its tone, depth and swagger that just stops us in our tracks. This is a real country groove-filled track that just takes you back to when you fell in love and waltzed your lady around the floor and felt the groove that is oozing from this fantastic outfit.
