Review By Darren McIntyre
The Forsaken are a hard rock 4 piece from Cambridge, England originally formed in 2021 as a beacon of resilience & artistic expression. The boys brought us their debut single Echoes Of Tomorrow which introduced audiences to their distinctive sound and laid the groundwork for their follow-up single Serenity which I will be reviewing for you today.
Serenity – A crunching twin guitar assault is the first thing that greets us as a pounding bass kick gets the rhythm section off the ground. The gravelly rasping vocals come in and let this track breathe as this towering 4 piece sets out their stall and gives it to us with no excuses as this growling beast breaks free and brings us their distinctive foot-stomping groove that is just on the money. The bassline is dropping epic grooves all through this colossal arrangement as the boys unleash a slick clean solo that dips in and out with sweet cool licks that are wrapped in a thundering snare drum beat that comes armed with killer cymbal crashes that give this track a edgy thundering touch as the gritty guitar riffs kick in the doors and let this monster rear its head as the boys attack from the get-go and let us know that they mean business with this epic follow up release.
