Review By Darren McIntyre

Numento is a melodic death metal outfit from Helsinki, Finland originally formed in 2004, the band have given us albums The Cataclysm in 2019 & The Vile Entity in 2022. The band are currently working on their 3rd album and hopes to release it sometime in 2024, the band’s sound is immersed in the Finnish National Instrument Kantele and one of the most important merits for the band was winning the toughest metal band competition in Finland Tuska – Torstai in 2022. The band brought us their new sci-fi-themed track Timetrap which I will be reviewing for you today.

Timetrap – The track erupts with a really intense twin guitar salvo that is wrapped in a pounding rhythm section that drops colossal double bass kicks that have a solid snare drum beat that lets this track come to life. The melodic searing growler vocals come through and give this track depth as we feel the intensity pulse through the main vein of this shredding power-driven beast, the boys are pounding away and let the deep soaring vocals of Katri take this track to another place. The rhythm section is hammering away with real depth as the pounding snare drum beats combine with a crunching double bass kick that has cymbal crashes raining down on us as the searing melodic vocals build and build and capture the essence of this foot-stomping death metal onslaught that has kicked in the doors and given it to us straight.
