Review
Elysian Divide are a Southern UK-based modern aggressive Alternative Metal band that has been around since 2016. They are renowned for their high-energy live shows and have picked up a growing fanbase right across the UK with their fatalistic lyrics and heavy yet still melodic music being the main USP for the band. One of my colleagues saw their live show in Stockport and marked them down as a band to watch, but it feels like a little while since they released any new music so I was interested to see which direction they would choose to take with their new song ‘Fall Down’.

In a nutshell, this record blew me away. The band have their own unique sound and the biggest compliment I could pay them is they don’t sound like any of their peers or influences. They are ultra-tight as a unit, befitting of a band who have been around for a little while. This record is super heavy with a huge chugging bass line, a fantastic vocal performance from singer Atashi Tada and some in-your-face lyrics which address the fact that ordinary people have little voice when advocating for change. It’s a great record and you should also check out the video when the song is released in May because it’s a hugely impressive affair that easily matches any of the top bands who are currently out there playing their trade. This record was nothing short of eye-opening for me and I shall follow the progress of Elysian Divide with great interest. Highly recommended.
