Review By Darren McIntyre
FM are an AOR rock band from London, England who originally formed way back in 1984 and this year they celebrate 40 years in the music business. The boys hit the road on their Old Habits Die Hard tour which started on the 30th of March in Nantwich and runs through till 1st of June finishing in Aberdeen and taking everywhere in between, with the tour comes their 14th studio offering Old Habits Die Hard and from that comes their new single Don’t Need Another Heartache which I will be reviewing for you today, please settle yourself in as I walk us through this epic slab of rock n roll from one of Britain’s finest rock n roll bands.
Don’t Need Another Heartache – From the outset, we get a sludgy blues-riffed guitar lick that is wrapped in a full-on bassline that lets this funk-laden rock track come at us. The soulful melodic vocals let the track breathe as the boys kick in with a killer beat that just lets us feel the energy pouring from the boys, the snare drum punches let the rhythm section break free as this killer track really comes to life with a keys section that just lets the soul flow through the arrangement as the killer vocals really cement this foot-stomping track as a real force to be reckoned with. The tempo changes direction as the slick clean guitar licks build and build as the boys come together and deliver a real blues rock track that has us punching the air with joy as the groove just grabs us and lets us feel the swagger flowing freely through the whole composition, there is a real mellow feeling to this track that tells us that FM are back baby.
