Review By Darren McIntyre
Glass Veins are a 5 piece alt/rock / indie outfit from Glasgow who came together when 3 friends from previous bands wanted to create gritty, captivating music that would appeal to the masses. The boys have given their 3 track EP Beyond These Streets and followed that with several shows around Glasgow, the boys have been busy in the studio bringing some new music to life and they have given me a sneak preview of their new offering, I bring you Lucid which I will be reviewing for you today.
Lucid – The haunting synth-laden piece begins with a sultry dark guitar pick that really gets the juices flowing as a deep bass kick lets this awesome new offering come to life. The mellow arrangement is building as the moody dark vocals release this edgy synth groover as we stamp our feet to this classy piece as the dark groove takes us to another place as we feel the depth, and attitude drive this fantastic moody track onwards, and basslines are dropping deep funking tones all through this soulful dark melodic track as the killer vocals drive their way through this haunting beast of a track that builds and builds as we feel the darkness swirl around us as the boys come together and really deliver a thought-provoking composition that really catches your attention as we feel the tone wash over us and then some.
