On a recent Sunday evening, the 1865 venue in Southampton became a time machine, whisking us back to our youthful days filled with nostalgia, music, and infectious energy. The night belonged to two iconic bands, Terrorvision and A, who took us on a journey through their hits and even offered a glimpse into the future with announcements of new music.
The atmosphere was electric, with the venue packed to the brim from early on, leaving no space for anything but standing room. Despite a minor setback with Jason Perry’s back injury, A’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. Perry’s vocals, untouched by time, resonated through the venue, accompanied by the band’s signature hits like “Nothing,” “Starbucks,” and “Somethings Going On.” The crowd erupted with cheers, especially when treated to a brand new track, hinting at an eagerly anticipated album slated for release in 2024, marking their return after 18 years.
Then came Terrorvision, greeted with thunderous applause, igniting a wave of nostalgia that swept through the audience. With Tony Wright leading the charge in his vibrant pink suit, the band delivered a powerhouse performance, reviving memories of their hits. From start to finish, the stage was alive with energy, and Wright’s dynamic presence proved that age is just a number as he commanded the stage with the vigor of his younger self.
The crowd, comprised of both longtime fans and new generations, sang along to every word, their faces illuminated with smiles of pure joy. It was heartwarming to see parents sharing this experience with their children, passing down the love for live music from one generation to the next.
