Review By Darren McIntyre
Isabell Oversveen aka ISSA is a melodic rock vocalist from Oslo, Norway who burst onto the AOR scene with her album Sign Of Angels in 2010, this was brought to the attention of Serafino Perugino, President & A & R Director of Frontiers Music and the rest as they say is history. ISSA has given us 8 studio albums and returns with her blistering new offering Another World which drops on 7th June. From the new album comes lead single Armed & Dangerous which I will be reviewing for you today.
Armed & Dangerous – From the outset we get a real 80’s feel that just grabs your attention from the get-go as the foot-stomping punchy beat takes this track onwards. The mesmerising vocals instantly get the groove off the ground with its soaring tone and smooth feel that lets the track open and soar, the pulsing bassline wraps itself around the funky rhythm section that brings a snare drum beat that is joined by a real gutsy bass kick that allows the beat to grab our attention as the slick gritty guitar licks fill the air and let us know that this incredible vocalist is back and back with a bang. The tempo is a real slick 80’s driven rock anthem that lets the synth tones flow freely through this fist-pumping, foot-stomping AOR melodic rocker track that has everything you want and more, we get the jist of this banging beast as the searing vocals stop you in your tracks and let the soaring groove just take you right back to the sizzling 80’s.
