Millie Manders & The Shut Up are a high – octane, fierce bursting with attitude cross genre punk outfit who initially came to our attention in 2015 when Millie formed The Shut Up and released 2 EP’s. Millie began her journey in the music world aged 5 and has a rich background in Classical, Big Band Jazz, Contemporary music ranging from Punk to Soul and back again. Millie has toured relentlessly since 2016 playing festivals, headline tours, support slots throwing out their infectious brand of punk infused rock n roll all over the UK. Tonight Millie Manders & The Shut Up roll into Bannermans for their headline slot, please settle down with a cold one as I take us through this pwer raging fast, furious white knuckle ride that will just catch you off guard. The place is rammed as Millie makes her way to the stage as the band are already there, the house PA dims as we roll straight into

Here We Go Again – A rasping guitar riff pours from the stage as the thundering snare drum beats fill the air as this foot stomping punk infused beast kicks in the doors and lets this rocking monster hit us where it hurts. The full on bassline is wrapping itself around this infectious rock n roller track as the punchy vocals ooze from the stage as Millie commands the room from the off, the tempo kicks in with a real full on gritty rhythm section that just lets us know that Millie & the band are bringing the heat for tonight’s show, the crowd are now part of the band as they bellow out the chorus to the delight of Millie and band, the place erupts with fist pumps and hollering that really lets this gig come to life, up next is –

Bacchus – Millie hits us with her best ska impression as the track unfolds with a deep pulsing bassline that really grabs us as this real funky punch laden track erupts. The cool vocals are wrapping themselves around us as this fantastic power raging beast allows Millie to let her soulful vocals let this melodic rocker build and build, the punchy snare drum beats are kicking ass as they let this fist punching track really deliver and let us know that Millie Manders & The Shutup are in town, rolling onto


Broken Record – The track begins with a shredding power riffed guitar lick that is quickly joined by the pounding rhythm section as the snare drum punches fill the room tonight. The roaring vocals are wandering freely through this foot stomping beast as the full on bassline drops epic tones that wrap themselves around this fast, furious groover that has all the elements to make us jump around and really let this band get under your skin. The whole arrangement kicks in the doors of Bannermans and gives us an almighty wake up call as this cool rocking outfit give us the what we came for, loud, punchy, raw emotion filled tunes that will leave us wanting more as we get crowd surfing and mosh pits that bring this place to life let me tell you, we applaude and cheer to let Millie know we are here and wanting more, next up is

Shut Your Mouth – The guys come at us with a punchy full on rhythm section that brings snare drum punches coupled with bass kicks as the cymbal snaps control the whole arrangement. Millie brings her cool melodic vocals that work well with this cool funk groove as the bassline drops swirling deep tones that let this epic foot stomper really gather pace, we have a shredding guitar riff that really lifts this track as the sizzling licks just give this track a nice edgy punch that has this crowd singing at the top of their voices as this powering unit delivers on every level, we catch our breathe a little as Millie chats to us and thanks us for coming out on this howling gale of a night as we stroll into the colossal


Obsession Transgression – Millie slips on her saxophone as this punk-esque beast rolls from the stage tonight as the cool snare drum kicks control the groove from the back of the room. Millie lets her epic vocals take this track to another level as the band come in and let this foot stomping ska monster let us feel the funk element oozing from this energetic 4 piece as they thoroughly entertain us with their high energy, infectious rock n roll groove as we are jumping around and feeling the beat wrap itself around us, Millie thanks us for being here tonight as it means the world to her and the band that we have come to watch her rock out in Bannermans as she tells us that it has been almost 10 years since she has been in this fine city which brings a huge cheer as we move into

Panic – Cymbal snaps ooze from the stage as the shredding guitar riffs erupt and let Millie rock out with her growling vocals that just let us feel the high energy tones explode from the stage tonight. The place is jumping up and down to this collosal rock n roll monster as the band come together and let this crunching monster tell it’s own story. The bassline is hitting us with meaty funk grooves that give this arrangement a real edgy funk groove as the band joins in on backing vocals which is just epic as the crowd holler and shout loudly as we stroll into

Me Too(New) – Growling guitar riffs are hitting us as the rhythm section kicks in the doors with a pounding snare drum beat that lets Millie come through with her almost spoken vocals that lets this killer track bare it’s teeth and let us feel the rawness from this fantastic outfit. The bass is dropping sweet, deep funk tones that really elevates this toe tapping rocker track that has a break in tempo mid track, the banging bass kicks are joining cymbal crashes that really grab our attention as this swirling monster comes at us with a real vengeful groove as Millie really drops epic vocals that are just resonating with us tonight, up next is –

Silent Screams – Shredding guitar riffs join the rhythm section as a solid snare drum beat lets this classy arrangement come forn us. The soaring vocals are just pouring from the stage tonight as the gig is hotting up with every track that comes our way tonight, the bassline is handing us sweet mellow funk tones that really wrap themselves around this killer track as the band really brings the groove tonight. The energy zapping track is just filling every corner of the venue tonight as we put our horns in the air and really get to grips with fantastic 4 piece, we roll into the double A Sider

Angry Side / Can I Get Off – A classy riff pours from the stage as Millie lets her melodic vocals bring this track to life as we await the intro kicking off as we get a thundering rhythm section brings the heat with snare drum kicks and killer cymbal crashes that lets us get inside this killer 4 piece as they ramp up the heat of this shredding power ravaged track that lets the slick guitar licks hit us in the face as we switch tempo with a killer guitar riff that has a thundering rhythm section that drops snare drum beats with cymbal snaps that really let us feel the funk element in this epic double header. The colossal bassline is handing us sweet meaty funk tones that are just awesome, this is a band with real raw energy, drive and will be around for a long time to come let me tell you, we rock into

Poor Man’s Show – A sweet cool funky groove comes at us as slick guitar picks are oozing from the stage tonight as Millie brings her rapping tones to this reggae infused track that is instantly infectious. The almost spoken lyric track is empowering for all the right reasons as it explores the government and their failure to protect the vulnerable in this country, the track is highly charged but sends the right message for sure as we stand and listen to this enigmatic musician bring her infectious vocals to this toe tapping arrangement that just grabs you, up next is the classic

Bitter –  A soaring guitar drenched intro that welcomes a cool snare drum beat that just takes the tempo up a notch or two as the crowd starts to get rowdy and jump around to this sludgy riffed beast. The rhythm section is a pounding monster that drops bass kicks and cymbal crashes that take this track to another place, we are stamping our feet to this edgy rocking beast as the mid section is dropping meaty basslines that are just incredible as Millie rocks out and just up’s the tempo as we punch the air with joy as this colossal punk inspired night just goes from strength to strength. The crowd are oozing with energy as we roll into –
Right To Life – Millie comes in with her soaring vocals that let this track come for us with a real powering tone that has us watching the stage as she builds up to thanking Bannermans for coming out as this fast, furious groover hits us. The killer saxophone tones are epic as they really set the tone for this fantastic fast paced toe tapping beast. The snare drum beats are just epic as they fill the whole place with a real gritty beat, we get spoken full on lyrics that are wrapped in deep bass tones that let us feel the depth of this high impact 4 piece as we hurtle towards the business end of tonight’s show as we roll into –

Burnout – Millie pulls on her guitar and joins in with the band as this ska infused rock n roll track comes at us as the doors are well and truly kicked in. The rhythm section is hitting us with a real punchy snare drum beat as the band digs in and brings us a real funky, edgy groove that just gives this crowd something to holler about. The place is watching on as the band hits full tempo and brings the place to life with a cool foot stomping beat that is wrapping itself around us as we feel the energy oozing from the stage as we roll into –
Glitter Mix – Gritty guitar licks ooze from the stage as this poignant track is let loose upon us as Millie’s incredible vocals fill the place with their intensity as the place falls silent. The bass is coming through and letting the groove wash over us as this colossal ballad style track just allows us to float off and feel the intense lyrics tell their own story as we just watch and feel the depth of this epic track. The bass is bringing us deep full on grooves that just give us goosebumps for sure as this soul searching beast allows Millie to express herself in this soaring vocal laden track that leads us into


Rebound –  A deep snarling guitar pick brings this cool track to life as the pounding rhythm section kicks in the doors with a real solid snare drum kick that lets this pogo inspired monster to really come for us. The cool heavy tinged vocals really give this track a cool punk- esque feel as the tempo is reaching boiling point as Millie takes the tempo down a touch that lets us clap along to this killer groove, the band are hitting all the marks as they deliver a solid well rounded track that is just putting smiles on faces as we really get into this killer outfit as they tear Edinburgh a new one tonight, next up for us is –
Not Ok –  Bannermans is ready as the band erupt into action with this gritty rocking punchy pounding punk piece that let’s Millie give us cool rasping vocals that work well with this killer beat. The bassline is handing us cool deep funk tones that are flowing effortlessly through this crunching monster track that is building and building as we get some more crowd surfing that really brings this place to life, the track is a furious rock n roll arrangement that just puts a smile on your face as the band are looking out and smiling broadly as they see the enjoyment they are dropping on us tonight. The night is a cool melodic rock n roll juggernaut that is just crunching it’s way through Auld Reekie tonight as we stroll into –
Your Story –  A deep punchy bass kick works well with the sizzling guitar riffs that are pouring from the stage tonight as Millie lets her vocals do the talking. The bass is dropping sweet mellow tones that wrap themselves around this kick ass track that is just building and building as we really let this awesome band hit us from all sides and let the tone take us to another place for sure, the band are giving it their all tonight as the rhythm section controls the groove from the back of the room for sure. The whole gig is a smile fest that leaves you wanting more as Millie controls the tone as she gives us solid rasping vocals that are just awesome as we reack the end of this power packed gig that was just incredible.
