Zeke Sky Takes ‘Command’

One of the rising stars in the metal scene today is Zeke Sky, an American guitarist, pianist, vocalist and composer who has made continuous impact since videos of his playing and songs emerged in 2018. Since then he has amassed a whopping 174,000 Facebook followers and thousands more among other social outlets.

Not too long after the 2022 release of his major label debut, Intergalactic Demon King, Zeke follows up on May 31, 2024 with Unity In Command, a concise blend of psychedelic rock, progressive metal, and world music. As the album title suggests, Zeke successfully “unites” these genres through intricate instrumentation, experimentation, and the ability to shred.

Jace Media contributor Justin Smulison spoke with Zeke for a bit of a deep dive on some of Unity’s tracks, how he created certain sounds that can trick the ear, his musical philosophy, and what it takes to thrive as a musician in 2024.
