Review By Darren McIntyre
Jeffrey Halford is an Americana / Roots / Rock musician originally from Dallas who aged 4 relocated to Los Angeles who found solace in surfing in a world where much was uncertain. Jeffrey again moved and this time to San Francisco and as a teenager found a burgeoning passion for music. From Curtis Mayfield to Howlin ‘Wolf’ he began to immerse himself in songwriting that has laid the foundation which he stands on today, Jeffrey surrounded himself with stellar musicians and brought together The Healers which woulf lay the backbone of his thriving music. Today Jeffrey brings us his rocking new single Rhythm Of The Rails from his 10th studio album as yet unnamed, please settle in as I walk us through this fantastic new single.
Rhythm Of The Rails – The funking groove begins with a soulful full bodied bassline that combines with sweet slick guitar licks that really lets this track breathe. The rhythm section is coming through and brings a snare drum beat that welcomes cymbal snaps that just let this groover come to life, the colossal Hammond keys are letting this foot stomping Americana track take us on a journey that is that of Jeffrey’s tales from across Europe. The vocals are smooth, soulful and have depth and swagger as this funky blues infused groover really cuts loose and lets us feel the funk that has wrapped itself around these stellar musicians as they bring a real swagger to this fantastic track as it flows freely through this toe tapper of a tune.
