New Horizon – Apollo – Single

Spread the love

Review By Darren McIntyre

New Horizon are a power metal outfit from Sweden who came to our attention in 2020 with the release of their debut album Gate Of The Gods in 2022. Fast forward to 2024 and Jona unveils not only a new vocalist but their sophomore album Conquerors with drops on the 14th June, from that new record comes single Apollo which I will be reviewing for you today.

Apollo – A nice smooth piano opening greets us as a snare drum roll wanders freely through the intro as the track suddenly comes to life with a fabulous synth section that really brings the dramatics. The rhythm section is handing us a real meaty punch that combines with the slick sizzling guitar riffs that are wandering freely through this fist pumping foot stomping groove track that has a real symphonic feel running through it. The vocals are soaring through this epic arrangement as the boys bring us a well versed number that has drama, emotion, attitude, depth and plenty in the tank as it rumbles forward, we get a pounding rhythm section that drops killer double bass drum beats that allow this track to race forward as the slick guitar licks deliver a soaring solo that just catches your attention. The tempo is changing pace several times during this phenomenal track and this adds to the texture of this awesome piece of music.
