Band of Brothers: The AnAkA Interview

Spread the love

By Justin Smulison

New York metallers AnAkA have returned with their crushing, sixth LP, The Oblivion Call. The album was a labor of love for the Brooklyn-based quintet, as it has been nine years since the release of their prior album, The Unwavering. With nearly all metal genres accounted for – from doom and death to thrash – including some prog-inspired instrumental sections, AnAkA successfully touches all the metal bases on The Oblivion Call.

AnAkA has shared the stage with metal heavyweights such as Zakk Wylde’s Zakk Sabbath, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Jasta, Trivium, Asking Alexandrea and Five Finger Death Punch and the new energy permeating from The Oblivion Call should strengthen their reputation among leaders in the metal community and fans worldwide.

Guitarist Peter Pallis and singer Jimmy Pallis are Brooklyn to the bone, as you will hear and see in this interview with Jace contributor Justin Smulison. They talk about The Oblivion Call’s lead singles, highlights from the band’s 24-year history, and the excitement of headlining NYC’s iconic Gramercy Theatre on July 27.

Clips: “Voice of the Faceless,” and “Deathborn.”
