Kate Russell is a country singer / songwriter / jazz pianist from Manifee, California originally from Australia who delivers boot stomping country classics that just wants to make you get up and dance. Kate grew up listening to Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves & Slim Dusty and this would inspire her love for all things country. Kate obtained a Bachelor’s & Masters degree from Berklee College Of Music & The University Of North Texas respectively, has spent many many years in Nashville forging her musical style and has surrounded herself with a fine cast of the biggest & best musicians around. Kate has opened for the likes of Dave Mason, Leon Russell, BB King, Big n Rich, Lonestar, Pat Benatar, Dickey Betts, Blue Oyster Cult, Great White and many many more. Kate has given us some great music and I will be giving you a taster with a trio of good ol country tunes to get you swirling your girl around the dancefloor, first up is 

Give Your Love To Me – Kicking off we get a sweet cool dobro sound that really gives us a feel of this fantastic musician as she comes at us with sweet melodic vocals that let this track shine. A solid rhythm section brings snare drum beats as the cymbal snaps let the groove wash over us and let this musician bring the country vibe to this foot stomping country groover, basslines drop meaty funk tones that wrap themselves around this hoe down track a real killer beat as the sparkling vocals rain down on us and let us get inside this fantastic musician as she gives us a sweet toe tapping groove that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. What Kate has is just infectious, thought provoking lyrics that let us feel the groove that just keeps on giving and giving.

Dynamite – A real fuzzy guitar riff combines with a fast paced punchy rhythm section that brings cymbal snaps with real heat as a slick clean guitar lick comes for us. The soulful vocals are just building and building as this foot stomping thigh slapping rocker track just ripples and brings us a solid country beat, we are grabbing our girls and whirling them around the dancefloor to this fantastic groove laden toe tapping funk arrangement. We are getting the feeling that Kate is just living the best life with these cool, groove laden punchy tracks that make you feel all warm & fuzzy inside.

You Ought To Know By Now – A softer approach hits us as this ballad unfolds with sweet dobro tones that are wrapped in killer keys that just take this track to another place. The mesmerising vocals are just allowing us to flow along with Kate as she delivers a real thought provoking mellow ballad that just shows her softer side, we feel the groove flow effortlessly through the track and just get a sense that we are feeling every word that is coming from this fantastic mellow affair that lets us lose ourselves in this fantastic track. We are certainly getting to know this incredible artist as she takes us on the journey with her.
