Review By Darren McIntyre

Steve Louw born Stephen Geoffrey Louw is a musician / singer / songwriter from South Africa who was born in The Hague and has been active since 1981. Steve formed his first band All Night Radio and brought us 2 albums, he went onto form Big Sky in 1990 and had great mainstream success, Steve has given us 10 studio albums with his bands and solo projuects and on September 6th he unleashes his new offering Between Time and from that comes this fantastic new single Giants Walk The Land which I will be reviewing for you today.

Giants Walk The Land – A pulsing meaty bassline drops in and gets this blues soaked offering off the ground as the rhythm section comes at us with a punchy bass kick as the track just opens up. The soulful gravelly vocals just set this track alight as we get a real sense of this fantastic musician as he takes us on this journey with him, the musicianship in this groover is just awesome as we get a real deep crunching groove that has snare drum beats that just take this track to another place as the tone just builds and builds as we peel back the layers that are buried deep within this dark melodic number. The slick guitar licks are just wrapping themselves around this foot stomping number as the depth shines through and really lets the delicious bassline drop funking grooves all through this well portioned rocker track that is just delivering a silky smooth delicious groove laden blues filled arrangement.
