Gracie Madigan Abrams is a singer / songwriter from Los Angeles, California who first caught our attention in 2018, she has dropped a couple of EP’s and was opening act for Olivia Rodrigo on her Sour Tour. Gracie dropped her debut album Good Riddance in 2023 and that brought her to the attention of Taylor Swift who brought her along as her opening act on her Eras Tour, fast forward to 2024 and Gracie brings us her second album The Secret Of Us and from that comes the floor filling foot stomping track Close To You which I will be reviewing for you today.
Close To You – The track opens with a cool sampler groove as Gracie lets her soulful melodic vocals get this track off the ground as the tempo kicks in as we feel the beat wrap itself around us. The punchy drum fillers are giving this track a real solid foundation as the beat comes in waves and just lets us get into the act of this soulful groover track, the fantastic vocals are just soaring through the track as we get the deep punchy synth tones as they deliver a foot stomping dance tempo that just lets us feel the awesome tones flow effortlessly through this disco laden soulful arrangement do it’s thing. The track is a real funky groover tone that just takes us on the journey with Gracie as she lets her vocals take the lead in this cool punchy sampler driven number.
