Review By Darren McIntyre
Victoria ‘ Toria ‘ Richings is an Americana artist from Sydney, Australia who blends soulful country tones with soft rock tinges that just captures the essence of all things music. At aged 11 Toria fell in love with the brooding blends of Neil Young & Joan Baez and began teaching herself guitar to help her achieve her goal of bringing her own style of Americana music to the masses. Toria has given us The Nashville Sessions, Diamond Stone, Turning Tides & 5 singles as she continues her rise up the Americana / Country ladder, today she drops her fantastic new single Bend & Break which I will be reviewing for you today.
Bend & Break – A real cool sultry guitar tone ripples through the intro as this foot tapping Americana track flows effortlessly and lets Toria unleash her awesome vocals. The mesmerising piano tones are wrapping themselves around this thought provoking number as the track builds and builds as we feel the tone bring this track to life, we get lap steel tones that just elevate this moody, melodic track as the tempo grabs us and just lets us feel the tone ripple through the arrangement. We let these incredible vocals lead the way as they forge a path that allows the backing vocals to bring this track to us as the cool acoustic strumming chords take us on the journey and let this fantastic track whisk us to somewhere new as Toria just delivers a well written, thought provoking track that just lets the music take you to somewhere new and feel the energy oozing from this exciting Americana artist that has something to say.
