Red Giant – Monsters – Single Review – noblepr

Review By Darren McIntyre

Red Giant is the brainchild of popular YouTube presenter & guitar prodigy Dave Simpson, Dave picked up the guitar aged 16 and has gone on to be a prominent performer in several bands over the years. 2024 saw Dave decide to change the narrative of music and decided to not only change his style but the direction in which he was travelling, 2024 brings us Red Giant and debut single Monsters taken from their eponymous album due to drop October 18th, please settle in as I walk us through this punchy debut single.

Monsters – A shredding power driven guitar riff gets this foot stomping rock n roll groover off the ground as Red Giant makes itself known to us. The funking bassline hits us hard as we feel the groove flow effortlessly through this crunching beast as the band settle in and really deliver a gritty rocking vibe, the rhythm section is giving us a solid snare drum punch as the bass kick and cymbal crashes rain down on us as we get into this powering trio. The rocking vocals are coming through as the track unfolds and delivers a well thought out punchy arrangement that just builds and builds, the bassline is handing us mellow funk laden grooves that just wrap themselves around this dark, sombre composition that just come at us in waves as the depth, energy and attitude just give it a real punch as the riffs erupt and just let us know that this band may just be the ones to watch in 2024.
