Review By Darren McIntyre
Victory are a heavy metal / hard rock outfit from Hanover, Germany who originally came to our attention in 1984 with their self released debut album. The boys have been ranked alongside the likes of The Scorpions, Accept & Helloween as one of Germany’s acts, the boys decided to call it quits in 1994 but decided that they needed to bring their infectious brand of rock n roll to the masses and reformed a couple of years later. The boys have given us 14 albums in their time which includes their latest offering Circle Of Life which drops on the 13th September, they have also given us 1 comp & 1 live album, the boys gave us single American Girl and follow that with the thunderous Virtual Sin, please join me as I run us through this pounding beast from these titans of the German rock scene.
Virtual Sin – Kicking in the doors from the off we get a thundering rhythm section that hits us with a real solid snare drum / bass kick beat that lets this monster rear it’s head from the start. The shredding guitar riffs are hitting us as a deep full on bassline drops killer funk grooves that let this track unfold with ease as the boys just give it to us and then some, the gravelly rasping vocals are just insane as they let this number build and really bring the energy as this fist pumping, foot stomping beast kicks in the doors and just tells it like it is. The soaring guitar licks are weaving their way through this colossal number as the pounding rock n roll beat grabs a hold of you and really shakes you to your very core, the boys are firing on all cylinders with this punchy in your face crunching beast that just builds and builds with each layer that is peeled away to give us a rock n roll juggernaut that shows no signs of slowing down.
