Review By Darren McIntyre

Eclipse are a Glam rock / Hair metal / Hard rock / Power metal band from Stockholm, Sweden who originally formed in 1999.
The boys have given us 9 studio albums with the last offering Wired scoring them huge success not only here in the UK but also all across Europe, the boys have been hard at work in the studio and brought us new offering Megalomanium which dropped September 1st. The release of the new record would  coincide with a European Headline Tour due to launch September 1st in Bochum, Germany. The boys have had a great 2023 and have been busy writing and recording the follow up to Magalmonium, I give you Megalomanium II due to drop September 20th, from that record comes new single Still My Hero which I will be reviewing for you today, please join me as I walk us through this awesome new track.

Still My Hero – The track begins with a rocking intro in true Eclipse style with a rasping guitar riff that is wrapped in cool punchy snare drum kicks as the boys pick up where they left off. The solid soaring vocals are just on the money as the boys settle into their stride with a solid full on bassline that is handing us a funky groove that compliments this rousing monster track so well, the whole arrangement is a slick, well oiled track that has real crisp tones that just grab your attention with it’s depth and melodic backing vocals that let this foot stomping bruiser fly. The track is just brimming with energy and drive which we have come to expect from these Swedish rockers as the crunching guitar riffs really let this monster do it’s thing, the boys are just letting their juggernaut roll on and on and this soul searching beast is proof that these boys are here and here to stay.
