Review By Darren McIntyre
Thundermother are a 4 piece rock n roll outfit from Stockholm, Sweden who formed in 2010 and brought us Rock n Roll Disaster in 2014, Road Fever in 2015, Thundermother in 2018, Heatwave in 2020, Black & Gold in 2022 & on the 7th February they unleash their new album Dirty & Divine featuring the new line up. A blistering onslaught of loud, proud & groovy hard rock music will let this epic new offering bring Thundermother back kicking and screaming, they drop new single So Close which follows Speaking Of The Devil & I Left My License In The Future, please join me as I walk us through this blistering new track.
So Close – A real sludgy melodic guitar riff flows through the opening salvo before Linnea brings her soulful rasping vocals to the party and off we go. The rhythm section is coming at us with a pounding snare drum groove that lets the cymbal crashes rain down on us as we feel the energy pouring from this blistering opening single, the funking bassline is handing us a real deep, cool groove that just lets this track pop. The tempo changes pace mid track as we get cool backing vocals that allow this arrangement to come at us as the band wraps their incredible sound all over this killer new track, the girls are on fire with this colossal new track that has a nice foot stomping, fist waving groove that is what we have come to know and love Thundermother for.
