RJ Archer & the Painful Memories are back with their new single, “Get It Together,” released on October 4th. This track is a strong statement from a band that’s quickly finding its identity within the timeless genre, channeling their influences while bringing something fresh to the table.

Led by Richard Archer on guitar and vocals, the band was initially formed after a successful studio session in 2019, and since then, they’ve grown into a cohesive, hard-hitting four-piece. Ben Kingsbury, originally on drums, now contributes as a second guitarist and backing vocalist, adding depth to the band’s sound. Roger James holds down the bass with tight, groovy lines, and Marc Ritchie keeps the whole machine running smoothly with solid, driving drumwork.

“Get It Together” is a prime example of the band’s knack for blending bluesy riffs with classic rock sensibilities. Archer’s guitar work is at the forefront here, delivering a gritty, melodic line that hooks you in right from the start. His vocals carry that raspy, authentic edge that fans of vintage blues-rock will instantly appreciate. Meanwhile, Kingsbury’s backing vocals and rhythm guitar create a rich, full-bodied sound that complements the lead without overpowering it.

Roger James’ bass playing is especially notable on this track, adding both groove and grit to the foundation. He plays off of Marc Ritchie’s drums perfectly, locking in with the steady beat while also giving the song room to breathe. The rhythm section shines in the breakdown, showcasing their ability to both drive the song forward and pull back when needed.

RJ Archer & the Painful Memories are definitely a band to watch as they continue to refine their sound and build momentum. If “Get It Together” is any indication, the best is yet to come.
