Jesus on Extasy – Days gone by
Formed by the Deveraux brothers Dorian and Chai, the German industrial band has returned from their long hiatus with new single “Days gone by”. The band is now signed to Metropolis Records and is a new chapter in the bands evolution. When asked about the return of the band from their extended break Dorian Deveraux explains “The long break was necessary to help me realise who I am, what I want and how I want to continue walking the path as JoE in the future. Our music is going to be harder, uncompromising and, most importantly, more authentic.”
The track has an 80’s pop feel infused with fuzzy guitars in the intro and this combined with the industrial elements gives the track a genre fusing quality to it. The 80s style singing is interspersed with more screamy vocals. Within the track there is an eerie breakdown where instruments cut and the focus is on the vocals which feels more intimate and sinister.
The track is accompanied by a music video with a subdued colour palette mainly comprising blue and white. Shot in a dystopian setting it adds to the tracks overall disturbing and menacing feel.
The track was released on Friday and marks the start of the return of industrialist group.
