Review By Darren McIntyre
Impellitteri are a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California who came to our attention in 1987 with the release of their self titled EP Impellitteri. The boys have given us 17 studio albums which includes the latest offering War Machine slated for release on November 8th, like most bands they have gone through some changes in personnel but believe they have kept the music the main focus throughout their musical journey. The boys drop their blistering new single Power Grab which I will be reviewing for you today.
Power Grab – Smashing in the doors from the off comes a thundering rhythm section that offloads with a furious double bass kick salvo that gives this monster track real depth. The soaring vocals come at us with a real vengeful tone as this crunching beast rears it’s head as we feel the power crashing through the track as the boys let us have it both barrels for sure, we have a full on deep bassline that is hitting us with meaty funk grooves that just allow this track to build with ease as the whole arrangement just kicks ass. The sizzling guitar licks are fast, furious, clean and just let the track flow with ease as we get the fist pumping, foot stomping beat that is pulsing through the veins of these boys as they offload with a real gritty beat that just catches our attention. A blistering monster track that has depth, swagger and bags of energy that really bring this band to our attention kicking and screaming.
