No Real Hero – Oxycontent – Single Review – earshotmedia

No Real Hero are a 5 piece outfit from Montreal, Canada who were formed in late 2012 and tell us that their sound is somewhere between punk & hard rock but it gives importance to catchy choruses & vocal harmonies. The boys have given us No Real Hero in 2014, The Forest EP in 2018 and have come at us with their vibrant new single Oxycontent from their soon to be releasedEP, please join me as I run the rule over this crunching new single.

Oxycontent – Thundering rhythm section hits us with a furious double bass kick intro that is joined by a cool snare drum beat that really lets this track off the leash as it offloads with a killer beat. The searing guitar riffs are weaving their way through the track as the arrangement builds and builds as we feel the power surging through the mid section of this gritty rocking beast, the vocals are a real gravelly melodic tone that works well with the catchy chorus as the boys come at us all guns blazing. The cool bassline is dropping meaty hooks all over this foot stomping, fist pumping anthem as the boys really give it to us big time and deliver a real metal based groove piece that is just kicking in the doors and delivering a no nonsense beat that will have you reaching for the repeat button for sure.
