Review By Glen Parkes
Synth-pop veterans Mesh return with their new single “This Without You (Fallen Mix),” set for release on October 24. Known for blending heartfelt lyrics with a melancholic electronic sound, this track pushes the boundaries of the band’s emotional resonance. Featuring Mark Hockings on vocals and guitar, Richard Silverthorn on keyboards and backing vocals, and Neil Taylor adding depth with layered synths, Mesh captures a sense of loss and introspection that is both raw and atmospheric.
Hockings’ vocal performance is especially compelling, delivering lines with an aching sincerity that feels tailor-made for the track’s introspective theme. Silverthorn’s keyboard work provides a steady heartbeat to the song, while Taylor’s synths fill out the soundscape, layering tones that feel both lush and haunting. The “Fallen Mix” brings out a darker, more immersive side to Mesh’s sound, resonating with the listener as if echoing the ache of personal loss.
“This Without You (Fallen Mix)” reminds us why Mesh has been a staple of the synth-pop and electronic music scene, blending textured sounds with profound lyricism that stays with you long after the music fades.
